Christmas.....sorted

Christmas is almost here, and after a 'big shop' last night. I'm all set.
Food is in, presents are bought and I'm actually starting to feel that little bit excited. Leah and I are spending Christmas day together this year, and it will be the first time in the 3 years we've been together that we've had our Christmas dinner with just the two of us. We will of course be having the traditional Christmas beverage down at the local. It opens for a couple of hours on Christmas day and loads of us all go down for a few pints and some well-wishings.
Boxing day is my Dad's birthday, so we usually pile round there for some of my mothers delicious grub.

If i don't blog before Christmas, i hope you all have a fantastic one and Santa comes and empties his sack for you.

This made me laugh...

Waiting in Hull station with Leah this weekend, she pointed out this sign to me.....

If anyone can enlighten me as to how this sign is applicable to where its located, then you're a better person than I! haha

Another sign worth a chuckle was a tap that was hidden away behind a pillar, barely visible, but accompanied with the notice that it was "Not Drinking Water". Which of course begs the question? Who has attempted to drink from this tap previously?

What i'm listening to....

Technikal - Techtonik

This is quite simply the best hard dance album I've heard in about 3 years. I've been bleating on about it for months now and i am still listening to it continuously.
There is something for everyone here, the album mostly focuses on hard trance styles, but just sounds so much better then conventional hard trancers, "Rescue Me" is simply brutal and uplifting.
Apart from the HT sound, there a a good chunk of groovy stuff and then a bit of harder tackle toward the end of both mixes.
For 8 quid its an absolute steal, and restores a bit of my faith in the hard dance genre. I'm hoping that Technikal is booked for the Tidy Weekender in March, i think its more than likely on the merits of this album.

Dubstep

I was listening to the Radio 1 programme on Dubstep the other night, and i quite liked the sound of some of it. So i hunted around for a mix so see if I'd been terrible misinformed. I ended up downloading a mix by someone called Excision. And i have to say, i quite like it, however after 30mins or so, it starts t get a bit boring.
Loving the huge sounds in it though. My mate Jonny told me that it was like "Transformers having a rave". Which makes it just that little bit cooler.........

New blog for a new me....

I've decided that i am going to start a new blog, one that just documents things as you would expect.

I'll keep "Grinds My Gears" running too, but will just use that for any venting thats needed. This will be a more "everyday" blog, and possibly, a lot more boring and mundane. haha.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the spouting that come forth from my finger tips. Its going to be an emotional rollercoaster people!
